MS IDAHO SENIOR AMERICA 2019, EVA FRY
CONGRATULATIONS to EVA FRY, Ms Idaho Senior America 2019!
Eva was born in Canada and moved with family to the United States in 1980 and became a US Citizen in 1993. They lived most of their time in San Diego. California.
For many years she worked with her husband in their construction business. She has been a Realtor in Canada and San Diego and Utah. She managed a GMC health food store and has been a salesperson for many enterprises. She has her own business now - Eva Fry Productions.
At the Age of 60, after being a stay-at-home Mom, when the kids grew up and left home, she used her empty nest as a launching pad to start a whole new career. She began to live her dreams of being an entertainer. She learned old songs and sang at her mother's care home. This expanded to other Senior facilities. She learned comedy to make people laugh. She tried song writing and has written and produced 75 songs and now uses her own songs as well as popular songs to entertain people of all ages. She taught herself the piano and guitar and has written three books.
One of her childhood dreams was to help troubled youth, as she had a troubled youth herself. She began a volunteer program 25 years ago called Be a Winner in Life (one of her books) and continues to talk to young people in Juvenile Halls and Detentions Centers.
She has always believed we all need to help others become better and happier and so teaches a class at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah in the ICL Program - The Institute for Continuing Learning. The class she teaches is called - How to Fully Live Your Retirement Years. She enjoys helping seniors get excited about their futures.
She is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and her and her husband were Missionaries for 8 years in the Addiction Recovery Program where she saw many miracles.
She is a firm believer that you are only as old as you allow yourself to be. She believes that we have a spirit inside that never grows old unless we let it, so she keeps busy with the attitude that we should do all we can right to the very end. That we should discover our gifts and talents and share them with others and that we should never stop learning and growing.
Her greatest joy in life is her family. Her husband, Al, of 60 years. Her 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Most of them live close by and they enjoy their Sunday Dinners together.
Her philosophy in life is that - life is what you make it and if you choose to do good works your life will be filled with happiness and joy. We all have the power to make a positive difference in life.
