Patsy Hockaday, Ms. Senior America 2014

Ms. Senior America 2014, Patsy Hockaday MS.SENIOR AMERICA!" Patricia "Patsy" Ann Bailey was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1952. She grew up with a love of singing and performing. Whether performing for her parents and their friends in front of the home stereo system as a small child, or singing into an imaginary microphone (hairbrush), music was the joyful constant of her youth. Patsy is blessed with two adult children, Jeanette and Cody, whom Patsy is proud to announce to all that she "likes" very much.

Patsy is employed by a federal contractor in the nearby town of Dumfries, Virginia, but now also moonlights performing with her musical group: "Patsy & the Country Classics." She and her husband had retired from performing professionally due to family medical problems. But after Patsy sang backup for Michael Hoover, an Elvis Tribute Artist, in 2012, they realized their passion was in performing, and soon after, formed "Patsy & the Country Classics." The band fills a "traditional country music" genre niche much missed by country music lovers. During Patsy's hiatus from the professional music scene she served as her church's worship leader and still continues to speak and sing at Women's Ministry events. Today, she feels strongly that she has been given a unique opportunity through her musical talent to reach and touch the larger audience with offerings of ministry and prayer.

Patsy views her life journey as an incredible adventure that continues to be rich and fulfilling in her sixties. She is ardent when she proclaims "I am so thankful. I love my life." She brought this enthusiasm to her role as Ms. Virginia Senior America 2014, and will continue it in her new role as Ms Senior America 2014.
