MS TEXAS SENIOR AMERICA 2018,
SHERRY VINCENT DODSON

Ms. Texas, Sherry Vincent Dodson CONGRATULATIONS to SHERRY VINCENT DODSON, Ms. Texas Senior America 2018, and to Sarah Senter and her exemplary team for another fabulous Texas Queen!

Sherry Dodson was born in Bolivar, Tennessee, but has lived in Texas for the past 40 years. She attended Murray State University and majored in voice and drama, and was nominated for best supporting actress for her role in “The Great Cross Country Race.” She participated in numerous plays in college and community theater, including “Annie Get Your Gun” and the lead role in "Bells are Ringing.”

Sherry was a featured stylist for Neiman Marcus salon and opened, Jarboe Salon, her own business, in 1981. Her salon was one of three in Dallas to be asked to be a member of International Coiffure, and she traveled throughout the United States teaching style, cutting and chemical technique for Revlon Realistic in New York City.

Having participated in the Ms Texas Senior America pageant, she became a member of the Cameo Club and entertains throughout the metroplex, including various civic and community organizations. Sherry has always had a heart for the elderly and infirm, so this is a dream come true. Singing in the Prestonwood Church Choir and leading Junior Choir while living in Kentucky, gave her incentive to continue singing and performing. Since becoming a part of the Spectacular Senior Follies this year, she performs as a Showgirl, and also as a member of the vocal cast.

Sherry, being the oldest girl of seven children, knows the meaning of responsibility and perseverance. She has been married to Dale for 32 years and they have one daughter. She also has two stepsons and five step grandchildren.
