MS COLORADO SENIOR AMERICA 2019,
LORI ADAMS

Ms. Senior Colorado, Lori Adams CONGRATULATIONS to LORI ADAMS, Ms Colorado Senior America 2019!

From a waitress to the CEO of her own creation, The Kloset Kids Company which sold original vintage rag dolls, Lori has worked tirelessly to support herself, her family and others. However, her greatest joy has always come from serving the less fortunate and forgotten ones. Lori was born on a ranch in Wyoming, and later moved to Utah where she attended Roy High School and graduated from Weber State University in Accounting. Lori is married to her best friend Eric and has 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren and lives in Centennial, Colorado.

One resounding theme has rung throughout her entire life and that is all people have value and are worthy of love, and even the smallest act of kindness has infinite power to transform a life and a community. Motivated by a deep love for humanity she has advocated for people with disabilities for over 35 years. Lori has ministered to incarcerated women, was a Director at a Rehabilitation Home for Women, served the homeless through Dream Center and Ray of Hope Ministries, and is an advocate for seniors. She supports and partners with various charitable organizations that work to provide services that would otherwise not be available to those in need.

One of the differences Lori has made for others was working with a Law Center in Utah to enforce an existing law to help release funding for people with disabilities. The new implementation of this law allowed people with disabilities to have access to a free and appropriate education within the mainstream classrooms.

The golden years are proving to truly be golden, as she steps into a new season with endless possibilities. Lori wants to shine a light on seniors and hearing loss. She hopes to change laws so any senior can receive affordable hearing devices. She also would like to highlight the value of importance of all generations in our community, seniors and youth as well, to ensure the sustainability and wellness of our society.

Lori looks forward to building new friendships with her Cameo Sisters locally and abroad while serving the community together. She says her talent has always been serving and valuing others and would like to continue by adding another dimension to her service with comedy. She is emphasizing the humor of humanity through standup comedy as she recounts common life struggles throughout the many seasons of life. Secretly she has always wanted to be a comedian because she loves seeing people happy, and believes laughter is the best medicine.

Like a child on Christmas Eve, she ends each day with gratitude and with great expectation that the magical gift of life is waiting for her to discover ….and so with great joy she embraces each day as her favorite day of the year!
